Our story
A family business rooted in Nebraska ranching
Husker Meats LLC is a federally inspected custom meat processing facility in Ainsworth, Nebraska โ an extension of the Pinney Ranch legacy.
Husker Meats LLC was built on the foundation of Pinney Ranch, a family-owned and operated cattle operation started over fifty years ago by Ron and Jean Pinney, located 22 miles south of Wood Lake, Nebraska. Their commitment to quality cattle carried directly into the meat processing side of the business.
We raise our animals and manufacture all products in-house, controlling quality from the pasture to the finished product. This practice allows for traceability in our processing. Our ranch has been producing quality animals since 1970 in the Sandhills of Nebraska. The consumer will receive an animal that is hormone and antibiotic free and allowed to roam on open range with regenerative practices enforced. Genetics and breeding are apparent in the meat marbling and tenderness. Animal welfare is of the utmost importance, which is why we have control from the time the animal is born until it arrives at your doorstep.
Husker Meats LLC has its own in-house USDA processor, so all retail meat is federally inspected and E. coli tested. We sell by bundle, whole, half, quarter, or individual pieces. All cuts come vacuum sealed for maximum freshness.

Ron and Jean Pinney started the operation over fifty years ago with a herd of Angus cows. In the early 1970s, they began artificially inseminating their herd to produce club calves. Their children Jim and Ronna went on to show feeder calves in 4-H and FFA shows across thirty states โ the same dedication to quality that defines Husker Meats today.
